A brief note on Nayantara Club

Nayantara Club was formed in 1980 to participate in a football competition and became the final winner. Later, it participated in various drama competitions in Assam and won many awards of excellence. In the year 1990, Nayantara Club organised Durga Puja for the first time. In the first year, there was a huge response among the public due to innovative lighting and pandal. That response has continued since its inception till date and has grown much more.

Since winning the best puja title given for the first time in Guwahati in 2001, the Durga Puja of Nayantara has been winning a number of awards till date. Having temporary office at KRC Road in Kumarpara in 1993, the club house has been constructed permanently with the financial assistance of the Chief Minister of Assam, MPs and local MLAs. Every year, along with Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Republic Day, Independence Day as well as Bhogali Festival is being organized in public since 2001 on the club premises.

Apart from this, various sports, cultural programs as well as various social programs have been organized to make the society aware. At present, apart from carrom, table tennis, badminton games, the club's classical music school, painting school, dance arts school, yoga-martial arts training, cricket training and a physiotherapy therapy center are running permanently in the club premises.

Nayantara Club Women's Council, which is very active in social and cultural aspects, has brought laurels to the region and has been actively cooperating in every program of Nayantara Club.

Thus, due to the immense sacrifice and cost of the esteemed members of Assam, The Nayantara Club has been established as one of the leading sports, cultural and social organizations in Assam today.
